Are you struggling to come up with interesting content for your blog? Are you looking for new ways to generate great ideas? Then try some of the following hacks to ensure that you never run out.

Look at what is working for other bloggers in your industry

Now, this most definitely doesn’t mean copying or stealing another bloggers content, but rather taking inspiration from other bloggers in your industry.

Create a list of successful bloggers that produce regular, high-quality content and spend some time looking into what they write about and what works for them. Chances are they’re writing about what their audience wants to hear, and guess what?… you have the same audience!

Once you have identified their successful topics, put your own unique spin on it, recreate it from a different angle, providing another source of valuable information.

Amazon

With Amazon being the largest online retailer, we can certainly use them to come up with ideas for new blog content. Take a look through the Amazon bookstore and search for your desired topics, it will likely reveal plenty of books written about that topic, you can even look at the ‘related searches’ section to see what other topics people are interested in that are related to your topic.

HubSpot’s Blog Topic Generator

This is a handy HubSpot tool which generates a list of article topics based on keywords that you enter, saving you a tremendous amount as it’s doing the initial brainstorming work on your behalf.

Industry news and trends

Twitter is the best source of trending ideas in the community, whichever industry you are in. Enter keywords into the search bar to find out what people are saying and asking. You’ll be able to produce a blog topic to solve these problems.

Also, set up alerts with some industry news websites so you get a constant, fresh feed of what’s ‘hot’… you can then create a blog article based on what people are talking about and searching for.

Google Autofill

Think of the general topic you’re considering writing, for example ‘blog writing’ – then type it into the Google search bar. Google will try and guess what you’re searching for and a form will drop down with its predictions, which is based on what people are actually searching for.

This is called Google Autofill and it’s a great way to find out the questions people are asking that are related to the topics within your industry.

Read comments

Reading through comments on yours, and other people’s popular blogs can help you to gain a better understanding of what your target audience wants to know more about, so you can create blog topics to answer the most commonly asked questions.

Ask your audience

No one knows more about what your audience wants to read about than your audience, so ask them! Send out a bulk email or ask the question on social media to find out what they really need answers to.
