Want to up Your Social Media Game? Here’s our 7 Top Tips…
Social media is one of the best ways for a business to interact with its customers and potential customers. However, many business owners just don’t know how to effectively use social media for their business.
If you’re struggling to make an impact on social media, then try the following tips…
1. Choose the Right Platforms
There are a lot of social media channels out there, but that doesn’t mean you have to be present on all of them. Instead of trying to be on all social media platforms all the time, focus on the ones that yield the highest engagement and which platforms your target audience use the most.
An easy way to identify the right platforms for your business is to check out what platforms your competitors are most successful with.
2. Interact with Your Audience
Don’t just use your social media profiles to blast out your latest offers, or links to your blog or website, use it to engage with your audience – after all, that is what social media is for!
Take time to listen to your audience and absorb what they are saying, reply to their comments and complaints and ask them questions to help build an online community around your brand.
3. Allocate Time
Maintaining an active and consistent social media presence can be a time-consuming job. We recommend allocating time to social media to make sure that a) you are prepared and b) to ensure that social media doesn’t take over your life.
A good place to start is by allocating an hour per week on a Monday morning to schedule in your posts, then each day allocate ten mins each morning, lunchtime and afternoon to log on and check notifications, respond to comments and reshare content when necessary
4. Utilise a Scheduling Tool
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram don’t start at 9 am and finish at 5 pm, so neither should your posts. However, we all know its far from possible to be active on these networks 24 hours a day 7 days a week. That’s why tools such as Hootsuite and Buffer are literal time (life) savers…
You can use these tools to schedule the bulk of your post’s days, weeks and even months in advance, creating more time for engaging with your audience.
5. Use Eye-Catching Visuals
Amongst the thousands of social media posts flooding peoples feeds these days it can be difficult to get noticed, that’s why it’s imperative you do all you can to make sure your posts stand out from the rest.
If you don’t want to use standard stock images and want to put your own stamp on them, or even want to jazz up your own images you can use a simple tool like Canva.
6. Post Consistently at Least Once a Day
An inactive social media profile doesn’t look great for any brand, you would be better off having no social media profile at all. However, this doesn’t mean you have to be active on social media every second of every day.
Try to post at least once a day and make sure this is consistent. To make this easier you can always one of the great scheduling tools available to save you some time and plan ahead. Some tools even make it super easy by offering an ‘auto respond’ service so you to auto-reply to any messages or comments!
7. Use the Best Images
Try to avoid using over-posed and cringey stock images, but at the same time don’t post an image that’s been hastily taken with a shaky hand just because you think you need to.
It’s always good practice to spend some time building a bank of high-quality, natural-looking stock images so you always have them available when you need them.
